Situation is I added 2 keys to my car and got a constant message 'Engine Immobilized, See Owners Manual' when the 2nd key was added. Car still started as it was fleet and PPV. I tired the 10 minute Relearn, and it blanked all keys, and wouldn't relearn any of the keys. I ordered a new cut key from the dealer, and the message went away as soon as I turned the key.
(1.) Can the old keys be relearned? Or are they lost/junk?
(2.) Do the fleet keys have the same chip as the regular keys? On the flip keys I have, I could buy a new chip and put it in if I know the one to get. Are the fleet keys pre-programmed or anything like that? There are a few places selling chips like this one- https://gtog8ta.com/08-09-g8/08-09-g8-key-fob-gm-id-46-chip/ but the fleet keys themselves have different part numbers from GM. They look the same externally, so I assume its the chip/programing that is different?
I had posted this https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicAdvice/comments/7wf8cy/passkey_issues_code_b3031_tdm_in_learn_mode_0/ when I first tried to fix this.
Thanks all
